PSAT Results are in!! (See email from Debbie Willows for details)
    Please remind your students that AHS is hosting an after-school session to discuss how to read and interpret reports
    The session will provide info on interpreting the new score report and resources for improved PSAT & SAT performance
    This session will be held in the Red LGI on Thursday 2/11 3-3:30pm

BBQ Pit Build Off Today @ Humble ISD Arena Pavilion 2/5-6
    Ag and Welding Classes across the district will compete beginning at 4pm Friday afternoon
    Saturday the BBQ pits will be auctioned off with profits going back towards the program
    Need a new BBQ pit? Come out and support our Eagles' hard work Friday and Saturday!


Teen Dating Violence Awareness Week 2/8-12 (see attached fliers and schedule)

    Student Council will have activities all week long including dress-up days!
    Wear pink on Monday and Chalk the Patio with positive messages
    Wear orange on Tuesday for Teen Dating violence Awareness Day
    Wear your favorite college shirt on Wednesday for Education against teen dating violence
    Wear black on Thursday in honor of the those who suffer in silence
    Wear your school spirit on Friday to show a united front against teen dating violence

Cardboard City host by Humble ISD Service Learning (see attached poster)
    This event will be March 5th at Turner Stadium
    Students will "sleep" in cardboard boxes to raise awareness and funds for homeless families (students too!)
    Funds will go to Family Promise of Lake Houston and Humble Area Assistance Ministries

   This session will provide families with info regarding Federal and State grants

   Information on requirements for filing the FAFSA will be covered too

Exemption Requirements- This list must be met in order to qualify for an exemption. Only 2 can be given per semester. Dual-credit courses will have different requirements (see teacher), and EOCs can NOT be exempt.

Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign:
    French Club is selling t-shirts to raise money for the Susan G. Komen foundation
    Shirts are on sale at all lunches until Oct. 9th-  $10 for S-2XL and $11 for 3-4XL ($5 from every shirt sale will go towards the Susan G. Komen foundation)
    Wristbands are $1 and Ribbons are 2 for $1
    There will also be a Pink Out Pep Rally Friday, Oct. 2nd

ice cream adjustment

Because of a less-than yummy result during first period, adjustments are being made to the ice cream lab planned for Block Day. Since it'll be undertaken Friday, notes will be done on Block Day. 

Timing will be tight Friday, so, Students, be ready to collect and organize your supplies AS SOON AS YOU ARRIVE!

Stuco Welcomes the Freshmen (see email from Josie Delgado)
    Please see Mrs. Delgado's email with details for Class of 2019 Class Officer Positions. If they missed the meeting on 9/2, they can still attend Wed Sept 9th in the Red LGI after school. To join Stuco dues are $20 and for officer positions at least 5 service points must be earned by 9/16. See Mrs. Delgado's email for service point opportunities. Election Packets must be completed by Sept 16th at 3:00pm. All Election Packet forms must be submitted to Mrs. Leblanc in Gold 1 or Mrs. Delgado in Red 1 room 1108

Stuco's Annual Potluck Thurs Sept 10th 6-8pm in the Cafeteria
    Everyone is invited to attend. Freshmen are in charge of bringing an entree (pizza, chicken, tacos, sandwiches, etc.). Join Stuco for fun games, music, and food. Contact Josie Delgado if you have any questions. Students may see Mrs. Delgado before or after school in Red 1 room 1108

    This week is AHS vs Klein Forest
    The Fan Bus is available for Away games & our 1st Fan Bus is this Friday 9/4. If you ride the Fan Bus you get to ride the bus and get into the game for FREE. Sign-ups are at all lunches to get your permission form on file

Volleyball "Diggin' for Duez!" - Tues 9/15
    THE Atascocita girls will be playing Woodlands HS and raising money for Multiple Sclerosis awareness. Come see them honor our own Mr. David Duez and beat Woodlands HS! Shirts will be on sale for $10 and wristbands for $5.

Fundraiser for Animation Students!! (see email from Donna Hannah)
    AHS students from Wehrman's Advanced Animation class have been chosen for the All American High School Film Fest
    Our students' animation "Parched" was 1 of 14 chosen (out of thousands)
    The Film Fest is in New York City and we would love to raise funds to help these kids get to NYC for workshops and the show
    Donations will be accepted online or in room 1730 to support these students

Ever wanted to be a Pirate? - Treasure Island Theatre Auditions Coming Soon!
    AHS Theatre's first production of the year based on the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson. Sign-up for auditions has already begun on the Theatre Callboard in the Fine Arts Hallway (1300s). Talk to any of the Theatre directors if you have any questions.

MCJROTC Garage Sale in Eagle Springs 9/12 (see email from Donna Hannah)
    MCJROTC's Booster club will be holding a Garage sale to help raise funds to support the ROTC program

Level Drops (see email from Meredith LeBlanc)
   Attached is the Level Drop Form for Teachers (Don't forget to contact the parents if a student wants to drop your class)
   Students must get the form from and signed by the Teacher they are dropping
   Please remind the students that they can only drop at the 3 weeks, 6 weeks, and Semester. The 1st deadline for the forms is Monday, Sept 21st, no later than 3pm. The students must return the Drop Forms completed to their House Counselor. Contact Meredith LeBlanc if you have any questions.

Textbooks / Bookroom 
   The Bookroom will be open before school (7-7:15) and after school (2:45-3) every day this week. The Bookroom is located in the back of the 1700s under Blue house. Mrs. Mulligan and Mrs. Bennett (Principal over the Bookroom) are in Gold 2. Contact Charlotte Bennett if you have any questions.

Pep Rally - this will carry through 3rd and 4th periods. So take attendance first thing in 3rd.
They must be wearing an AHS spirit shirt to get out of the room!

    Membership dues are $20 (paid online at the AHS store or in cash at the meeting) See Mrs. Josie Delgado in room 1108 before or after school if you have any questions.   
 
Football Season is Up and Running!!! (see email and attached schedule from Craig Stump)
    Note on the attached schedule that we have a game this Friday at Home in Turner Stadium against Clear Falls
    Also check out the dates for Homecoming, vs SCHS, vs KHS
    AND when Woodlands HS will have to come to THE Atascocita High School!
    Tickets for the games will be on sale at all lunches (the week of) for students $4 / adults $6
    Then tickets will become $8 at the gate, so buy early!
